These seedlings have been produced from a gorgeous cross. The mother plant is a dark Anthurium magnificum, and pollen comes from a “BHP” aka. Black Complex with Anthurium hoffmannii and papillilaminum genes. Last two photos display parent plants courtesy of Sunny (instagram @sunshine_plantz).
The plant pictured is the one you will receive.
Velvet leaf anthuriums like this need very specific conditions to thrive. This is not an easy-care plant. If you live in Australia’s southern states, we recommend a humidifier, greenhouse, or similar to house your velvet leaf anthuriums. These plants are endemic to the tropics, and require warmth and humidity to grow. Some collectors push the limits of these plants, growing them in below-optimal conditions, but we don’t recommend this unless you are an experienced grower.
